Makati buildings, today at 06/09/2005. Taken from our office window using my cellphone camera. Yeah, the image isn't of good quality, but this would do. A little bit hazy weather today. It's still bright outside though. Posted by Hello

First Day, Spunk
I kept on hearing the song "First Day Funk" by local band Parokya ni Edgar from one of my officemates here. It goes like this:

Let's do the funk, let's do the first day funk... let's do...

And what's a good music without a matching dance routine: you act out like a hyper person with music blaring from the radio speakers. Somewhat like dancing like a white guy, though far from being "this" stupid. (It's more of "Point to the Lord" but never the "Honkey Hump").

It's no coincidence, as their first website page shows the band posing for their new commercial of Rexona (local deodorant brand) depicting their first day in class.

Talk about having first impressions in school with heavy body odor.

~~~
Classes officially start today in the Philippines. June is the "first day at school" month in the Philippines. Who doesn't know this fact, unless you are a foreigner.
Much to say, I know some kids are pretty excited to go back or start their first day funk, er experience, at school. New clothes, new friends, new books, higher allowance... terror teachers. Oh yes, the life of a student is exciting.
While the life of a corporate worker is absolutely... redundant.
I feel bored and underutilized. Currently.
Inspirational Words
"If you hear a voice within you say ‘you cannot paint,’ then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced."
- Vincent Van Gogh
Ah, the words simply connote timeless advice to "prove other people wrong by doing you know you could do best".
Proving other people wrong is but a personal struggle to heed their babbles or listen to the voice within.
Hmmm.
Zong We Go
After a long and pain-staking planning, we got ourselves to go out and fine dine (during lunch time) at Zong restaurant in The Fort area. Below is one of the fares we enjoyed.
Fish fillets with sweet and sour sauce and flakes. Or something else... Posted by Hello
Foolishly, one of our officemates always tell us that those brown things on top of the fish fillet are "bleep... bleep".
Mind over matter (I never imagined them as what was told to us). These are flakes and not "bleep... bleep". Or whatever. Still edible. That "bleep... bleep" sounds annoyingly funny, eh?
But those flaky things remind me of the spicy "meat floss" scattered over the bread buns found in a Bread Talk specialty bakery store. Speaking of "meat floss", I tried one of their buns, er, breads with these spicy "meat floss". At first, I liked them. A few hours later, I eventually hated the taste.
Maybe it's the continuous munching of the "meat floss" that got me so saturated that I begin to puke at the mere smell of these.
I begin to long for soft pandesal bread. A brown paper bagful of these made from large batches of pure margarine and oven baked in a local "pugon" very early at dawn. Now that is truly a delight for me.
